“Macedonia Without Waste” Campaign Under Way

Macedonia Without Waste CampaignThe second national cleanup campaign “Macedonia without waste 2013”  is taking place in almost all municipalities across the country as part of the global campaign “Let`s do it! World 2013“, supported by European Parliament.
The objective is through coordinated joint action to encourage activism and raise awareness over appropriate waste management.
The central event was held in Skopje to clean up a dumping ground. Environment Minister Abdilaqim Ademi, his deputy Stevo Temelkovski and the mayors of Skopje and Aerodrom municipality, Koce Trajanovski and Ivica Konevski, took part.
“Macedonia Without Waste” campaign includes activities, educational workshops and promotions of environmentally-friendly waste management systems.
Nearly 70 schools, numerous non-governmental institutions, organizations and companies have joined the campaign.
