Exports from the zones over half a billion euro

Exports from the zones in the first six months was over 550 million and more than doubled compared to the first six months of last year.

The Director of the Industrial Development Zones Viktor Mizo said this is mostly due to the fact that we have new companies that are functional and the ones that in that period last year were not working. – Above all, he added, here is “Van Hull” in “Skopje 2,” here is “Johnson Controls” in “Shtip”, second phase of “Johnson Matthey” in “Skopje 1″, but also much larger scale of production of “Kemet” in the first half of this year compared with last year.

He noted that only “Johnson Matthey” every month increases its production and undermines its previous record month in terms of exports, the largest exporter.

Each month, “Johnson Matthey” is increasing its production and undermines its previous record month in terms of exports, as the largest exporter.

- If we look at the concluding numbers from last year, companies from zones share almost 25 percent of total exports in the country and looking at these numbers is expected that this year they will have even greater contribution to total exports. But, it is increased the added value, i.e. the difference between exports and imports and what pleased me is that when looking at the state of coverage of imports with exports is growing year by year, and one of the main reasons for this are precisely these companies and foreign direct investment in new production facilities in the country, says Mizo.

In the second half, stronger export from zones

He added that the second half of the year, exports are expected to be stronger than these companies because they are companies that are working for relatively short time and exports by the end of the year is expected to exceed one billion euro.

According to Mizo it will be the fulfillment of the planned export from three functional areas – Skopje 1, Skopje 2and Shtip.
